Experience the journey to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain, Mt Everest (Sagarmatha in Nepali, Chomolungma in Tibetan). The Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most iconic trekking adventures on the planet. Located in Nepal’s Khumbu region, the route leads you through vibrant Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries, and some of the most breathtaking Himalayan landscapes imaginable.
(Note: Mt Everest's North Base Camp (~ 5,200m) is located in Tibet, China. It is accessible by road).
The trek begins with a thrilling flight aboard a small twin‑prop plane to Lukla, followed by a gradual ascent through rhododendron forests, suspension bridges, and traditional Sherpa villages. You’ll pass through Namche Bazaar—the gateway to Everest—before continuing on to Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche en route to Everest Base Camp. The return journey follows a similar path, with opportunities for rewarding side trips such as the ascent to Kala Patthar, a renowned viewpoint offering panoramic vistas of Everest and the surrounding Himalayan giants.
